Open ID isn't a yahoo service - its an open protocol that Yahoo has recently adopted. Its not new, but we are hoping to see more take up across the web now that someone large like Yahoo are offering it. Have a read - http://openid.net/ You can even install it on one of your domains and provide your own openid :) So use a different provider.
